Erin Amador

Erin Amador
Director of Mehlville Early Childhood

Erin Amador is the Director of Mehlville Early Childhood for the Mehlville School District. With over 10 years of experience in education, all within Mehlville, she is dedicated to supporting families and young children during their earliest and most important years.

Erin began her career as an Early Childhood Special Education teacher, working with students of all abilities and leading behavior intervention efforts for children with significant needs. In 2021, she transitioned into the Parents as Teachers and Early Childhood Coordinator role, where she coordinated staffing, programming and early learning initiatives aligned with district goals. In 2026, she is starting her first year as the Director of Mehlville Early Childhood.

She holds a specialist degree in School Administration from Lindenwood University, along with master’s degrees in Curriculum and Instruction and Teacher Leadership from Southwest Baptist University.

Building relationships has always been at the heart of Erin’s work. She values collaboration, inclusive practices, and creating a strong sense of belonging among staff and families. One of her most meaningful professional accomplishments has been leading efforts to improve staff connection and culture.

Outside of school, Erin enjoys reading, spending time with her husband and son, and exploring the outdoors. She is also involved in the community through the Kiwanis Club and Oasis International.

Ashleigh Hussey

Ashleigh Hussey
Parents as Teachers and Early Childhood Coordinator

Ashleigh Hussey serves as the Parents as Teachers and Early Childhood Coordinator for the Mehlville School District. Since beginning her career in education in 2012, she has been committed to supporting students, families and educators through meaningful relationships and high-quality learning experiences. She joined Mehlville in 2022 as a Parent Educator before stepping into her current leadership role, where she oversees the district's Parents as Teachers and Early Childhood programs.

Before joining Mehlville, Hussey spent eight years as an educator at Premier Charter School in St. Louis, where she taught math and science, served as an English learner specialist, and developed a STEAM program. She also mentored teachers and led school-wide initiatives, further developing her passion for educational leadership.

Hussey earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and a graduate certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from the University of Missouri–St. Louis. She also holds a Child Development Associate certification and has completed extensive professional learning in project-based learning, STEM education and cooperative learning.

As a school leader, Hussey believes every child deserves a strong foundation for lifelong success. She is passionate about partnering with families, supporting educators and creating inclusive learning environments where children can thrive from their earliest years. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and creating welcoming spaces at home.
